Suspension is vitally important for the function of road holding. The
suspension system contains several moving parts and some of these parts wear
out over time and mileage. Shock absorbers are prone to wear after certain
mileages and should be checked for leaks at every MOT along with a bounce test
to make sure that the shock absorber will absorb shocks from the road. The
front fork assembly is also prone to wear and leakage if not correctly
maintained. Front forks contain oil which absorbs shocks from the road through
a series of passages. This oil will become contaminated over time and must be
replaced and the forks cleaned internally at the specified mileage of the
manufacturer. This ensures premium operation of the suspension and comfort and
road holding for the rider and passenger.
Your Suspension can
be upgraded with several different types of improved shock absorbers which give
stronger road holding under hard riding conditions, or can be specifically
calibrated to your weight for the optimum riding experience. Front forks can
also be uprated for faster riding or for more relaxed cruising with different
springs and oil weights. Please ask for details.
